Paulette Harper is an emerging Christian Author making her debut with her first inspirational book That Was Then, This Is Now, This Broken Vessel Restored, a compelling story of deception, heart-ache and ultimate victory. In 10 chapters she masterfully uncovers the hidden obstacles she faced as the “first lady” and how she eventually broke through those barriers.

A native of Pittsburg, CA, Paulette travels as an Inspirational speaker and licensed minister teaching people how to overcome life’s unexpected experiences by delivering a strong message of hope.

Beyond her writing ability she has a passion to lead people to a clear and precise understanding of how life challenges can become one’s ultimate source of victory by sharing solid, biblical principles that will enable people to find a way out of every trial so they can reach their God given potential.

How do you find time to connect with God?
Connecting with God is essential to my life. I constantly fellowship with Him during the day and spend quality time studying the scriptures for my own spiritual edification.

Do you have a favorite song(s) that really lifts your spirits every time you hear it?
Oh yes. I love Marvin Sapp’s “Never Could Have Made iIt” That song says it all. Without Christ carrying me through everything I faced I would not be here to share my story.

Do you have a favorite bible verse and or quote you wish to share?
Yes. I love I Samuel 30:8, “And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? The Lord answered him, Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

I have this promise from the Lord that a day of restitution is coming. The things that I lost in the process of getting me here will be returned.

Would you say you are an extrovert or introvert?
I believe over the years I’ve become an extrovert.

Tell us about some activities you enjoy doing during your free time.During my free time, I enjoy playing spades and board games. I also enjoy attending plays and concerts.

What one piece of advice did someone give that still sticks with you to this day?
My best friend told me to just be me. For so long I tried to measure up to the standards and mindset of others and I found out that no matter how hard I tried to win their approval it was not going to happen. I realized that people didn’t want to accept me for who God had made me be so I needed to cut those people loose. I can honestly say that I like Me even with my issues (that might be book # 3 “even with my issues”
).

What brings you the most joy?

I remember the first response I got from a reader. She told me how she had been in the wilderness for years and by reading That Was Then, This Is Now helped her get through. I can’t tell you the joy that brought to me. I cried knowing that my testimony was helping hurting people. So when I get feed back like that the joy that fills my heart knowing that God has used my life to help someone else.
